Free poppy design

Hello everyone, I said June would be a poppy month for my extra free charts. I am starting with a very simple one as I had a query to see if the design could be stitched for VWF - Veterans of Foreign Wars in the US and for the British Legion here. I think it's a great idea. If you require the motif to be smaller, then stitch on 16 count Aida.

Easter weekend

David and I had a lovely weekend and a great time with our two grandaughters. Although many of you will have seen the pictures on my Face Book pages, here they are again! Not sure the 2 year old quite got the hang of looking for Easter eggs, Leah, the 6 year old, read out the instructions beautifully, but Rosie was rather happier with the outcome, once she realised that the foil wrapper had to come off!

Quick flower design

I'm sure this would work as a quick design to stitch for an Easter card, but if not, then it's a good one to keep on one side for those times when you need to stich something quickly. Although I have chosen blue shades, you can pick any colours you wish......a good one for using up all those oddments of thread.

Italian beauty

I hope you will like my latest design for Gold Cross stitch magazine, issue 137, where I hope to transport you to the shores of the sunny Mediterrean - Italian style!

There are 29 shades of stranded cotton, one shade of metallic thread, plus fractional stitches for detail and both French knots and seed beads, so this design is more suitable for expert stitchers. I hope though, you will enjoy stitching it!

Trip to the snow!

As you can see from the photo, David and I have had a few days in the snow. Our trip was to north of the Arctic Circle in Norway. A journey on the Arctic Express took us over the border 50 miles further north into Sweden where we had the experience of a husky sledge ride and a long walk in the a beautiful snowy landscape.

Spanish beauty

This Spanish lady can be found in the latest edition of Gold Cross Stitch magazine, issue 135. Although this design looks intricate, it is fairly simple; it just needs concentration, in particular, when attempting the patterned areas. These patterns are based on blackwork stitches - backstitches that make up the patterns. The beautiful border, butterflies and fan, and the decoration on her dress are all based on this particular style of needlework. I think she looks gorgeous, I hope you will agree.

Beautiful rose cushion

This lovely rose design, edged with a filigree pattern, can be found in the latest February edition of Cross Stitch Collection. Simple to stitch, as there are no backstitches. Shown here on a 28 count evenweave and although it can be stitched on 14 count Aida, perhaps will not have quite this end result.

LJT244 Zodiac cuties

I finally managed to get all of the cute zodiac charts together. It's taken me rather a long time! They are shown here as one sampler idea with all of the 12 signs, which makes it ideal for you quilters out there and, of course, for individual cards as well. This complete set will be on sale for £12.00 which will be a saving if you are going to stitch quite a few of them, as individual cards are priced at £1.50 each.

New designs for my SHOP

I have just added three more designs to my SHOP section; two designs being a Victorian lady and a teddy sampler and this one of a woodland fairy accompanied by a few forest friends.

The Victorian lady is a detailed design so suitable for the more experienced stitchers amongst you, and the teddy sampler is ideal for a new born or young child. There is a separate alphabet and numbers chart included so you can personalise your stitched piece.

Well, here we go again. I do hope you all managed to have a great festive season.

I have recently added a trio of pretty Geishas to my shop. These can be stitched as individual designs, or as the group of three. This design can be found in the Oriental section.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all prepared and looking forward to Christmas Day and you managed to get all of your Christmas cards stitched in time. David and I will be on our own so we will get the chance to relax! The family get together will be later next week so we need to reserve our strength!
