This gorgeous summery floral cushion is still in the vintage, shabby – chic look. The jug, an original Laurua Ashley design, is one I purchased in the early 1980s and is still a favourite and often used. If you like roses as much as me then have a look at my section; Ideas for You, where you can find another design showing off these beautiful flowers.

Enjoy the exquisite bloom of a water lily all year round by stitching this serene design. The chart is to be found in the latest Cross Stitch Collection, issue 225.
The beauty of water lilies has led to their widespread use as ornamental plants. The French artist Claude Monet depicted the flower in many of his paintings but I chose to show a single flower and naturally thought that a gorgeous dragonfly would be perfect to complete the design.

I was contacted a few days ago from Anna in Canada, who pointed out that I had mistaken carnations for peonies in the title of a chart that I am selling. I quickly checked, and yes! she was right!
I'm not sure of what influence I was under! but all rectified now. The following day I was sent a WIP of the said piece.......French knots still to be added...........and I was delighted.
Thanks Anna for picking up on my mistake, but I so enjoyed seeing...

Another week gone by, but here in the UK, especially where I live in Suffolk, the weather has been beautiful and sun is forcast for all of today. The landscape certainly looks like Summer with the darker greens on the trees and the vibrant red poppies that can now be seen in the hedgerows and fields.
For those of you that don't look at my FB page, I just wanted to add a picture of my Angel design that a stitcher...

The blue outlined areas are not uniform in size throughout so please take care when stitching these.

In the present October edition of Cross Stitch Collection you can find some quick and pretty items to stitch. There are a couple here for you to see; I particulaly like the covered buttons with an attached loop for a really pretty hair band and the simple, but very effective floral card that gives the appearance of a watercolour painting; soft and quite natural. For those of you who like needlepoint or perhaps might wish to try, this chart would be...

Seeing the lovely faces of pansies brings me a feeling of happiness, especially when we are in the depths of winter and there is very little visible colour in the garden. I have used a bright shade for the jug, which offsets the mauves on all of the flowers, and the spots give a modern touch. The chart for this design is fairly easy as I have allowed the patterns on the flowers to remain simple – allowing the colours...
