Lesley Teare Cross Stitch Design

Going Dutch

14th Mar 2016

These four designs are based on the pretty Delftware, or Delft pottery, originating in the Netherlands in the 16th century. I adore, as many of you will know, blue and white china and this group of stitched tile patterns, will look delightful hanging alongside my pine dresser that is full of this type of pottery.

Although I have stitched my four as a small sampler, each motif would look great mounted on a box frame so that you could display them on a shelf or windowsill. Quite simple to stitch with just a few fractionals added for detail, these blue and white patterns of Dutch scenes and flowers will delight.
